Trip to Costa  Rica
By: Liz Shumaker

Bob and I just spent a week in Costa Rica and we had a very good time, But I must tell you about a very special place that we found. If you ever go to Costa Rica you must go and visit The El Castillo Serpentarium de Zoolological. We went to 4 serpentariums while we were there and this is the only one that actually took some of the reptiles out for us to hold and see closer. Our guide Juan (Rasta) was the best guide we had anywhere we went. They have a lot of the indigenous species of Costa Rica and also have a Burmese Python. They also have a butterfly garden and a lot of beautiful plants. Juan impressed us so much that we had a copy of Reptiles magazine with us and decided the next day to carry it back to him. He was doing a tour so we were invited to sit at the restaurant next door to wait for him. I am so glad that we went back. We met the chef Ricardo and had the best meal that I have had in a long time. And we also got to meet the owner of the serpentarium and restaurant Victor Quesada. We took in our laptop and we all sat around and looked at some of our reptiles. They loved ours as much as we loved theirs. I must say that of all the places we went I enjoyed this the most. We even drove back there again the following night just so we could spend some more time with our new friends and to eat Ricardo’s cooking again. If you go to Costa Rica you must go and visit The Serpentarium in El Castillo. You will have a wonderful time. The people there are the Best!!!
