February - 2009  Meeting

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We had a great turn out of members for our February meeting. The speaker for our February meeting was the Vet form the Jacksonville Zoo, Dr. Nick Kapustin.  He works with the reptiles at the Zoo.  He went over the many parasites and viruses that affect reptiles, including the symptoms to watch for in your reptiles.  He told us that new reptiles coming into the zoo were quarantined for at lest 90 days.  All snakes were checked by fecal sample and blood sample if they were big enough to obtain a blood sample.  There was a lot of questions from the members.  This was a very interesting meeting and I think we all learned a lot from Dr Nick Kapustin.
Here's a few pictures from our meeting.
