Brief Life History:
I love reading, crafts, photography, hiking, camping etc.  I have always loved animals and nature.  Growing up I always had cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters etc as pets.  I have to admit that as a child, I was terrified of snakes. But when I was around 10 we built a house in the woods. There were lots of snakes and bugs. I learned to respect them but still didn't like them. As an adult, I took in rescues. Anything furry or feathered. But once my kids had asthma and allergies, I thought my rescue days were over. Then one day I heard about a snake that needed a home. As my son plans to be the next Steve Irwin, I thought what better way to support him.  So, I brought home our first corn snake. I had no experience or knowledge but have learned a lot in the past few years. I have grown to enjoy reptiles almost as much as my kids do. So much in fact that I now have my own snake.  Now I am back to taking in rescues. Reptile rescues.  My hope is to one day become a certified rehabber and maybe work at a park or zoo. That's me!

Primary herp interests:  I guess my primary interest is in corn snakes, mainly because that's where most of my knowledge is right now.  I also like turtles, maybe that's what I will learn about next.

Why did you join the JHS and what do you want to get out of your membership?  I joined JHS so that I could meet other people with an interest in herps and saving herps.  I hope to learn a lot from the other members and make some new friends while at it.

What has been your favorite JHS experience?  We are new so I have only been to a few meetings and MVPs but I have enjoyed both. The meetings are very informative and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and my snakes with the visitors to MOSH. I love seeing the kids faces when they have an up-close experience with one of the reptiles brought to MVP.
