Tonca Gets a Checkup and Weigh-in July 12, 2008 |

The Museum of Science and History on Saturday celebrated the 42nd
birthday (guess-timate!) of Tonca, their Alligator Snapping Turtle.
On hand for the day was the Jacksonville Herpetological Association
with a bevy of reptiles, lizards and turtles for gawking school
children who visited. Tonca tipped the scales at 126 pounds, gave a blood sample to Dr
John Rossi, DVM, and had his heart listened to and other vital signs
checked. All were checked good. Tonca's was caught October 1994 as a 25 pounder Here are ten pictures from Tonca's
